The ACI Iraq Chapter is excited to announce the winners of the student project competition of the academic year 2017-2018. Students from different Iraqi Universities participated in the competition, which is organized each year. The amazing thing is that the second and third winners are projects from two universities in cities liberated from the control of ISIS, Ramadi and Tikrit.
The first-place winner project is titled: "Evaluation of Impact Resistance of SFRSCC Considering Different Drop Weights and Drop Heights" by Noor Ali Abdulhussein and Reyam Qasim Hussein of the Wasit University at Kut City and supervised by Prof. Dr. Sallal Rashid Abid.

The second winner project is titled: "Investigation of Dynamic Response of Hybrid RC Frames Having Various Supporting Systems" by Hadeel Ali Handel of the University of Anbar at Ramadi City and supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Akram S. Mahmoud.

The third winner project is titled: "Flexural Behavior of Slender Reinforced Concrete Beams With Openings" by Ibraheem Jamal Karim and Harith Zeki Kadoori of the University of Tikrit and supervised by Assist. Prof. Dr. Muyasser M. Jomaa’h.

Iraqi Engineers Union celebrates the three winners of the national student project competition held by Iraq Chapter - ACI. Many thanks to Dr. Azhar Al-Rubaie, the President of Iraqi Engineers Union for her initiative to award the winners 800$, and thanks also to Dr. Saheb A. Khidher, Vice President of Iraq Chapter - ACI for his efforts in organizing the event.

I About ACI - IRAQ chapter

Day by day Iraqi universities and engineers return back to be part of the global knowledge community, and building relations with international scientific organizations will achieve this important goal. The American Concrete Institute ACI is the most common organization for Iraqi civil engineering departments and civil engineers. In many countries, ACI established chapters in order to develop fruitful relations with people interested in concrete studying, design and construction. So, ACI established chapter in Iraq at 16th of August 2013.
